How to Get There

Lengarica Canyoning begins at the Bënja Thermal Baths, about 7 km from Përmet along the road toward Frashër, on the edge of the Lengarica Canyon. Our team meets you at our base camp in Përmet town center and provides round-trip transport to the thermal baths, where you'll suit up before entering the canyon. Përmet sits on the SH75 highway within the Vjosa Wild River National Park, roughly 25 km from the Këlcyra Gorge. No personal transport is needed — just arrive at base camp at the scheduled meeting time.

Best Time to Visit

Canyoning in the Lengarica Canyon is best from April through October, when water levels in the narrow gorge are manageable for wading and swimming. Late spring and early summer (May-June) bring fuller streams and lush green walls, while July and August offer the warmest air and water temperatures, making the post-trek soak at the Bënja Thermal Baths especially refreshing. September and October are quieter, with comfortable temperatures and fewer visitors. We avoid running this tour during winter and periods of heavy rain, when the canyon's water levels rise and currents become unsafe for wading.

What to Bring

Beyond swimwear, water shoes, a towel, and a full change of dry clothes, we recommend bringing a small dry bag for your phone, wallet, and car keys, since you'll be wading and swimming through the canyon for 1.5-2 hours. A reusable water bottle is helpful for after the trek, and sunglasses with a strap are useful for the walk to and from the canyon entrance. Since the tour finishes at the Bënja Thermal Baths, pack a spare swimsuit if you'd like to linger in the hot springs after rinsing off from the canyon water.

Nearby Attractions

The tour finishes right at the Bënja Thermal Baths, natural hot springs fed by the Lengarica River — the perfect way to warm up after your aquatic trek. From Përmet, it's also worth visiting the Sopoti Waterfall, a hidden cascade tucked into the surrounding mountains, and the dramatic Këlcyra Gorge, where the Vjosa River carves through the "Uji i Zi" canyon connecting Përmet to the wider Vjosa Valley. All three sites are easily combined into a single day trip from Përmet, making canyoning a great anchor for exploring the region's natural landmarks.
