The Ultimate Weekend is Përmet's flagship 2-day adventure combo (€150/person), pairing Vjosa River rafting and Lengarica Canyon aquatic trekking on Day 1 with a 4x4 off-road safari and alpine summit hike on Day 2. The package includes all gear, guides, transport, and lunches, plus a relaxing evening soak at the Bënja Thermal Baths after Day 1. Suitable for travelers with good overall stamina (no athletic background required), it covers all four signature activities of the Vjosa Wild River National Park region in one seamless 48-hour expedition.
The absolute crown jewel of our adventure packages. Over 48 action-packed hours, we combine our four most sought-after extreme activities into one seamless, unforgettable expedition.
Master the untamed rapids of the Vjosa River, plunge into the Lengarica Canyon, strap into 4x4s to traverse hidden trails, and embark on a breathtaking guided hike. Conquer them all.
Vjosa Rafting followed by Lengarica Canyoning.
Relax at the Thermal Baths and enjoy a massive dinner.
4x4 Off-Road Safari deep into the mountains.
High-altitude hiking and a panoramic summit picnic.
Both days of the Ultimate Weekend begin from our meeting point in central Përmet, a short walk from the main square and easily reached on foot from most guesthouses and hotels in town. Day 1 transport takes you to the Vjosa River put-in for rafting, then on to the Lengarica Canyon entrance near Bënja for the afternoon's aquatic trekking — both within a 20-30 minute drive of Përmet. Day 2 departs by 4x4 toward the Dhëmbel-Nemërçka mountains for the off-road safari and alpine hike. All transfers between activities, and back to Përmet each evening, are included, so you only need to reach Përmet itself — easily accessible by bus or car from Tirana, Gjirokastër, or Sarandë.
The Ultimate Weekend runs best from April through October, when the Vjosa River carries an exciting but manageable Class II-III flow for rafting and canyoning, and mountain trails are clear of snow for the Day 2 hike. Late spring (May-June) brings the highest water levels and lushest canyon scenery, while September and early October offer warmer, calmer conditions and golden autumn light across the Dhëmbel-Nemërçka peaks. Mid-summer (July-August) is popular for combining the cool waters of the Bënja Thermal Baths with hot, sunny hiking days. Winter months are unavailable due to high water and snow at altitude on Day 2.
Pack for two very different days. For Day 1's water activities, bring quick-dry swimwear, a change of clothes, a towel, and water shoes or sturdy sandals with grip — wetsuits, helmets, and life jackets are provided. For Day 2's 4x4 safari and alpine hike, sturdy closed-toe hiking shoes are essential, along with layered clothing (temperatures drop quickly at altitude), a warm fleece or jacket, sun protection, and a reusable water bottle. A small daypack is useful for carrying personal items during the summit picnic. Don't forget your camera — both days offer some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Vjosa Valley.
Because the Ultimate Weekend already covers Përmet's two most iconic natural sites — the Lengarica Canyon and the Bënja Thermal Baths — most guests use any free time before or after the package to explore the town itself. The Ottoman-era City Stone (Guri i Qytetit) sits right on the Vjosa's banks in central Përmet, an easy stroll from most accommodation. If you're arriving from or departing toward Gjirokastër, consider a stop at the dramatic Këlcyra Gorge, the "Uji i Zi" canyon that connects Përmet to the wider Vjosa Valley.

Yes — solo travelers are welcome and often join small groups for the activities, a great way to meet other adventurers while seeing the best of Përmet.
We monitor weather and river conditions closely. If one activity becomes unsafe, we reschedule it within your stay or substitute an equivalent experience so you still get a full 2 days of adventure.
All activities start and end at our meeting point in central Përmet, an easy walk from most guesthouses. We provide all transport to and from the Vjosa River, Lengarica Canyon, and the mountain trailheads on both days — you just need to get yourself to Përmet, which is reachable by bus or car from Tirana, Gjirokastër, and Sarandë.
May, June, September, and October offer the best balance of exciting river conditions for Day 1 and clear, comfortable trails for Day 2's hike. July and August are also popular, especially for cooling off at Bënja Thermal Baths after a hot day on the mountain.
Bring swimwear, quick-dry clothing, and water shoes for Day 1's rafting and canyoning, plus sturdy hiking shoes, layered warm clothing, sun protection, and a daypack for Day 2's 4x4 safari and alpine hike. We provide all technical gear — wetsuits, helmets, life jackets, and safety equipment — for both days.
